Mr. Ranit Rana is an accomplished metallurgical engineer and seasoned management professional with over 25 years of experience in the stainless steel industry. He currently serves as Associate Vice President (Sales & Distribution) at Jindal Stainless, one of India’s leading stainless steel manufacturers.
In his current role, Mr. Rana leads product and market development initiatives across key sectors including Automotive, Railways & Transportation (ART), Material Handling, Process Industries, and Infrastructure. He is also pioneering educational outreach through the Stainless Academy, collaborating with top institutions like IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, and the Sir J. J. College of Architecture to introduce elective courses on stainless steel in B.Tech and M.Tech programs.
Early in his career, Mr. Rana was recognized as the Best Graduate Trainee at Tata Steel (1997–1998). He gained international experience during operational training in Pickling & Cold Rolling at Japanese steel leaders such as Nippon Steel, Hitachi, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. He also served as Secretary of the Technical Committee at the COLROL 2000 symposium and led Six Sigma green belt projects to enhance quality processes for clients.
Mr. Rana has been instrumental in applying customer value management techniques from McKinsey and implementing TS‑16949 quality standards across flat product lines. Additionally, he contributed to corporate branding initiatives at Usha Martin, partnering with global branding agency Landor Associates.
Beyond industry leadership, Mr. Rana serves as a faculty member at Jindal Stainless, delivering training on stainless steel applications at prestigious engineering and architectural institutions. His holistic blend of technical expertise, market development, quality excellence, and education outreach positions him as a key influencer in India’s stainless steel and infrastructure landscape.
