Shri Rajesh Prasad is a distinguished technocrat with an
illustrious career spanning over three decades in the Indian Railways and
infrastructure sector. An alumnus of IIT Kanpur with both B.Tech and M.Tech in
Civil Engineering, he is widely recognized for his leadership, strategic
vision, and execution excellence in large-scale infrastructure and rail
projects. A 1988 batch IRSE officer, Mr. Prasad has contributed significantly
to the transformation of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) into a globally
competitive infrastructure enterprise.
As Director (Operations) of RVNL since 2020, he has led the
organization through a remarkable growth trajectory, with its market
capitalization rising over 3100%. He played a pivotal role in expanding RVNL’s
international footprint with projects in Maldives, institutionalizing corporate
systems such as ISO certifications, and commissioning over 1000 km of railway
and metro track during his tenure. His leadership was instrumental in RVNL
achieving Navratna status and streamlining operations in SPVs under the PPP
model.
Mr. Prasad has received numerous national honors, including
the Railway Minister's Award, several Zonal Railway Service Medals, and
prestigious lifetime achievement recognitions from industry bodies like Green
Tech Foundation, Metro Rail & Steel, Urban Infra Group, and IIT Kanpur. He
is also a recipient of the K.C. Sood Memorial Award for technical excellence.
An avid contributor to industry discourse, he has published
over 25 technical papers and regularly engages in knowledge-sharing forums, TV
interviews, and academic institutions like NAIR and Gati Shakti
Vishwavidyalaya. His work is also documented through numerous Coffee Table
Books and infrastructure showcases under his leadership.
