Founded in 1925,
the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is the leading and only National Chamber
of Commerce operating from Kolkata. With a history spanning nearly a century,
ICC has evolved as one of the most proactive and forward-thinking chambers in
the country, representing the interests of its diverse and influential
membership base. ICC works closely with various Ministries and State
Governments on policy and industry-related issues, making it a key player in
shaping the future of India’s industrial landscape.
ICC's
membership spans some of India’s most prominent and major industrial groups,
and the Chamber has made significant contributions to the promotion of Indian
businesses both domestically and internationally. It played a notable role in
the pre-independence era in the promotion of the Swadeshi Movement and has
continued to advocate for Indian businesses in the post-independence period.
The
Chamber’s activities cover a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing,
infrastructure, trade, and services, making it an ideal partner for advancing
initiatives such as the RailTrans Expo 2025. ICC’s continued focus on
promoting India’s growth story aligns perfectly with the objectives of
the expo, especially in showcasing the country's strengths in rail and
mobility sectors.
