Shri Rupesh Kohli is the Executive Director (Testing) at the Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO), where he leads a dedicated team of 145 specialists. His expertise lies in instrumentation, rail rolling stock assessment, data analysis, and component testing, focusing on the dynamic behavior and stability assessment of all rolling stock. This rigorous testing ensures that each unit is certified fit for regular operations on Indian Railways and various metro systems across India.
Over the past year, under his leadership, the team has successfully completed assessments of significant projects, including the Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat train sets, triple-stack container operations, roll-on-roll-off freight cars, and the new-generation automobile carriers. Additionally, they have conducted evaluations of WAP7 locomotives operating at speeds of 180 km/h and metro coaches for cities such as Navi Mumbai, Kanpur, Bengaluru, Pune, and Kolkata. His commitment to maintaining high safety and performance standards in the rail sector plays a crucial role in enhancing the reliability and efficiency of public transportation in India.
