Mr. Ajit Kumar Mishra is a distinguished infrastructure and construction expert, currently serving as Director (Works) at IRCON International Limited, a premier railways and transport infrastructure company under the Ministry of Railways. Prior to his current role, he was the Executive Director (Contract Management) at the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL).
With a career spanning decades in the railway infrastructure sector, Mr. Mishra brings versatile expertise in project execution, contract and risk management, procurement, and public–private partnerships. He is well-versed in FIDIC contract management, arbitration, dispute resolution, and supply chain leadership.
As Director (Works), he oversees planning, estimation, conceptualization, and execution of IRCON’s domestic and international projects. Under his leadership, IRCON’s order book grows through effective project delivery, alignment with indigenization goals, and compliance-focused execution.
Mr. Mishra is also recognized as a distinguished adjudicator and trainer in construction law, having represented DFCCIL in high-stakes dispute adjudication boards and arbitral tribunals for multimillion-dollar contracts. He serves as Vice Chairman of the Society of Construction Law – India and contributes actively to the development of contract management practices in the industry.
His blend of technical proficiency, legal acumen, and leadership in large-scale infrastructure projects makes him a pivotal figure in advancing IRCON’s global engineering mission and enhancing project governance standards.
